Thursday, March 30 FILA Easter Bowl Recap: No. 1 Girls’ 18U Seed Valerie Glozman Eyes Second Consecutive Easter Bowl Title

Thursday saw the first set of Easter Bowl champions crowned, while the 16U and 18U players took a critical step forward in their quest for a title. See Thursday’s key results.

 12U and 14U Champions Crowned
Las Vegas’ Raya Kotseva became the first player to be crowned a 2023 FILA Easter Bowl champion. The Girls’ 12U champion ousted Florida’s Camilla Kostik in the title match, rallying back from behind in the second set to secure the title victory. In the Boys’ 12U division, Georgia’s Jason Eigbedion completed his dream run to an Easter Bowl title with a win over Advay Singh in Thursday’s final.

For the 14U age division, the singles champions have also been crowned. Nancy Lee is left standing as the Girls’ singles champion while Southern California’s very own Roshan Santhosh (Thousand Oaks) is the 2023 Boys’ 14U singles champion.

16U Semifinals Set
The semifinals are set to begin for the Boys’ and Girls’ 16U fields on Friday, and one familiar face at the Easter Bowl is looking to become a champion at the event once again. New York’s Sebastian Bielen won the 12U title back in 2021, and is now just two matches away from claiming another Easter Bowl trophy. He’ll take on No. 4 seed Ian Bracks in the semifinals, while the other semifinal will be contested between Braeden Gelletich and Cooper Han.

The Girls’ 16U saw its biggest upset of the tournament with so far with No. 1 seed Claire Hill falling to No. 9 seed Anna Frey. Frey will take on Claire An in the first semifinal, and No. 3 seed Alanis Hamilton and No. 2 seed Leena Friedman will battle for the other final spot.

Boys’ and Girls’ 18U Narrowed Down To Final Four
No. 1 seed Valerie Glozman has continued her march to another FILA Easter Bowl title with a 6-0, 6-0 rout in her quarterfinal matchup. She’ll play the unseeded Shannon Lam in her semifinal match, while No. 5 seed Aspen Schuman will meet No. 7 seed Capucine Jauffret.

The Boys’ 18U semifinals will feature a blockbuster match between two rising talents with UCLA early enrollee Emon van Loben Sels meeting Georgia Tech commit Krish Arora in the first semifinal. The other semifianl match will take place between Los Angeles’ very own Cassius Chinlund and Clemson commitment Marko Mesarovic.
